As part of a series of urban design initiatives to celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of our Studio BT48 in Northern Ireland, GRADONARCHITECTURE release their vision for the redevelopment of Waterloo Place in Derry. Located within the conservation area, the 2,500sqm city centre site was originally considered to be the commercial and retail heart of Derry but has since been neglected due to the introduction of new shopping centres such as Ricmond Centre and Foyleside. Our proposals draw from the catalyst of the Peace Bridge across the River Foyle and seek to re-connect the city through quality public realm and a diverse mixed use regeneration development.
